Intergenerational Healing Approach™ (IHA)
Developed by Dr. Lea S. Denny, the Intergenerational Healing Approach™ (IHA) offers a transformative model for addressing historical and intergenerational trauma, and community violence.
Moving beyond traditional therapy approaches, IHA emphasizes relational health and community well-being as essential components of healing for survivors of violence. Through our internship program, future clinicians learn to engage trauma holistically and collaboratively, working within interdisciplinary teams to integrate community-based, trauma-informed practices. Using the CAM Frameworkâ„¢, interns are equipped to contribute to collective healing, building skills to support survivors in meaningful, lasting ways.

At HIR Wellness Institute, we are redefining the practicum and internship experience for future mental health professionals. Through our Community Activated Medicine™ (CAM™) Advanced Training Clinic, students gain hands-on, real-world experience working directly with community needs.
