10th Annual CAM™ & Red Sands Event
Honoring Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Relatives (MMIWR) for Community Grieving and Healing
SAVE THE DATE
Saturday, November 14, 2026
📍 University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee
Guided by culturally responsive and trauma-informed care, the event will feature the Red Sand Project, an art and activism initiative that fills sidewalk cracks with red sand — symbolizing the lives lost to human trafficking, exploitation, and violence. What began as a small act of remembrance has grown into a movement for visibility, healing, and change.
🌿 Event Highlights:
Red Sand Project — community art and awareness activity
Community Hub — local Milwaukee organizations offering resources, support, and pathways for healing in navigating grief
Mobile Mental Health Clinic — HIR Wellness Institute's traveling mental health clinic staffed by licensed providers and graduate-level students offering walk-up emotional support, wellness checks, counseling surveys and assessments, providing trauma and healing informed care.
Grieving Vigil — a collective space to honor and remember loved ones
Together, we will hold space for grief, resilience, and collective healing.
