HeartMath® Services
Therapy Services Designed for Survivors
HeartMath® is a research-based system that focuses on heart rate variability (HRV), the naturally occurring changes in the time between heartbeats, as a key indicator of stress and emotional regulation. Through breathing techniques, mindfulness practices, and biofeedback technology, HeartMath® helps relatives shift into a state of “coherence,” where the heart, brain, and nervous system are working in sync. This coherent state supports clearer thinking, emotional balance, and improved resilience to stress.

Healing Beyond Words
Slowing down to heal
For many survivors, sharing their story of violence can feel overwhelming—especially when the pain is complex and deeply personal. At HIR Wellness Institute, we understand that traditional talk therapy alone may not meet the needs of survivors in the early stages of healing.
That’s why we offer a 6–10 week healing program designed to gently reconnect you with your resilience, strengthen your inner foundation, and restore balance through mindful practices such as breathwork and emotional regulation. Each session is guided by a licensed therapist or clinical intern trained in the HeartMath® program and trauma-informed care. Together, we focus on calming the body, soothing the heart, and rebuilding trust from within. This program supports survivors of all ages—from children and adolescents to adults and Elders—offering a safe and compassionate space to process stress, anxiety, and the lingering effects of trauma. This program also supports our community helpers & healers who are at greater risk burnout and vicarious trauma. To learn more or schedule a consultation, please contact our team today.
