Our Approach to Suicide Support & Recovery
Walking beside those who struggle and those who grieve
At HIR Wellness Institute, we approach suicide prevention and healing through a lens of compassion, cultural grounding, and relational care. We recognize that suicidal thoughts and the grief following suicide loss are deeply intertwined with experiences of trauma, isolation, hopelessness, and disconnection. Our work honors the truth that healing from these experiences requires community, culture, and connection—not judgment or shame.
For individuals who struggle with suicidal thoughts, we offer trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that focuses on restoring safety, belonging, and purpose. Our therapists and advocates help survivors of trauma and those living with persistent hopelessness reconnect with their strengths, relationships, and cultural practices that sustain life and meaning. We emphasize healing beyond traditional talk therapy—using creative, somatic, and restorative approaches such as art, movement, breathwork, and circle-based support.

Creating a path forward
Healing on empty
For those grieving a loved one lost to suicide, we provide specialized grief support grounded in understanding, ceremony, and collective healing. We know this grief is complex—woven with questions, guilt, and pain that words alone often cannot hold. Through community healing groups, counseling, and culturally guided remembrance practices, we create safe spaces to honor loved ones and transform grief into connection and care.

At HIR Wellness Institute, we believe that healing from suicide—whether through prevention or grief work—begins by breaking isolation and restoring community. As one of our guiding principles reminds us: “When one life is held in love, the circle grows stronger for all.”
